Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 31, 2026
1. Introduction
Globel, a property of Finlatitude ("we", "us", "our"), operates the website at finlatitude.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect directly
When you submit the Contact form (where available) we store the name, email address and message you provide. When you save preferences such as light/dark theme or last-used currency, those settings are stored locally in your browser via localStorage and never transmitted to our servers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
3. Information collected automatically
We log standard request metadata (page paths visited, HTTP referer, user-agent string, anonymised IP address, request timestamp) to operate and secure the Site, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse. This data is retained for up to 90 days and is not used for advertising personalisation.
4. Cookies & similar technologies
We use a small number of first-party cookies and localStorage entries strictly for site functionality (theme preference, calculator currency, last-comparison cache). These cannot be disabled without breaking the core tools. Third-party advertising and analytics partners listed below may set additional cookies, which you can manage independently via the controls referenced in Section 5.
5. Advertising & Google AdSense disclosure
This Site uses Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-9469800561779683), a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie and similar identifiers) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out at optout.networkadvertising.org, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out at optout.aboutads.info, or, for EU/UK residents, youronlinechoices.com. For full details of Google's advertising practices see policies.google.com/technologies/ads and the Google Privacy & Terms at policies.google.com/privacy. Where required by applicable law (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act), advertising and personalisation cookies are only set after we have obtained your explicit consent via the consent banner displayed on first visit.
6. Affiliate links & sponsored content
Some pages on this Site contain affiliate links or sponsored partner placements (for example our Partner Offer sidebar units). Sponsored placements are clearly labelled at the point of display and outbound links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute as required by Google's webmaster guidelines. We may earn commission or fees from qualifying clicks or actions on these links at no additional cost to you. Editorial content (articles, calculators, cost-of-living indices) is produced independently of any affiliate or sponsor relationship.
7. Data we share with third parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share limited information with the following categories of vendors strictly to operate the Site: hosting (Emergent / Cloudflare), advertising (Google AdSense), geocoding (GeoNames — query strings only, no user identifiers), and economic data (the World Bank Open Data API — no user data transmitted). Each vendor processes data subject to its own privacy policy.
8. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, California, or another jurisdiction granting equivalent rights, you may have the right to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete personal data we hold about you, as well as the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address listed in Section 11. We will respond within the statutory time period applicable to your jurisdiction (typically 30 days).
9. Data retention
Contact-form submissions are retained for as long as we maintain an active editorial relationship with the sender, or for up to 24 months from the date of submission, whichever is shorter, after which they are deleted. Server logs are retained for 90 days. Cookies have varying retention periods set by the issuing party; consult Section 5 for advertising-cookie controls.
10. International transfers
The Site is operated from servers that may be located outside your country of residence. If you access the Site from a jurisdiction with data protection laws different from the operator's, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country with different privacy protections. By using the Site you consent to such transfers, subject to safeguards required by applicable law (Standard Contractual Clauses for EU/UK residents).
11. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy or to exercise the rights described in Section 8: editors@finlatitude.com. For data protection requests, please include "Privacy Request" in the subject line. Editorial responses typically arrive within 3 business days; formal data-protection requests are handled within the applicable statutory window.
12. Changes to this policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on this page with an updated effective date at the top. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
